What We Do

At H.E.A.R.T. Rescue, we specialize in saving the kittens that need us most. From fragile newborns only hours old to critically ill and special-needs kittens, we provide the lifesaving care they need to survive and thrive.

  • Neonatal Kitten Rescue & Intensive Care

    • We provide 24/7 care for orphaned neonatal kittens who require bottle feeding every 2–3 hours, temperature regulation, weight monitoring, and specialized medical attention. These kittens are among the most vulnerable in animal rescue and require experienced caregivers to give them the best chance at survival.

  • Medical & Critical Care

    • Many of the kittens we rescue are suffering from serious illnesses, injuries, or congenital conditions. We work closely with VCA Valley Animal Hospital and DeRolf Animal Hospital to provide diagnostics, medications, surgeries, and ongoing at home hospitalization treatment for kittens battling diseases such as panleukopenia, feline infectious peritonitis, and other life-threatening conditions.

  • Foster Care Program

    • Every kitten in our rescue is cared for in a loving foster home where they receive individualized attention, socialization, and the care they need to grow into healthy, confident companions. Our foster families are the heart of our organization and make every rescue possible.

  • Adoption Services

    • When our kittens are healthy and ready, we carefully match them with loving forever families. Our adoption process is designed to ensure every kitten is placed in a safe, committed home where they will be cherished for a lifetime.

  • Community Education

    • We believe that education saves lives. H.E.A.R.T. Rescue provides resources and outreach on neonatal kitten care, fostering, responsible pet ownership, and the importance of spaying and neutering. By empowering our community with knowledge, we can help prevent unnecessary suffering and reduce feline overpopulation.

  • Community Partnerships

    • We collaborate with VCA Valley Animal Hospital and DeRolf Animal Hospital to ensure kittens receive the care they need. We also are partnered with Mountain View Humane Society for spay/neuter services. We partner with local rescues and shelters such as Star City Cat Rescue, Roanoke Valley SPCA, and Bedford cares to create a stronger safety net for the most vulnerable cats in our community.
